On Wednesday, March 2 President Almazbek Atambaev in the framework of his working visit to the Russia met with Russian President Vladimir Putin, the President's office reports.

During the meeting, Russian President Vladimir Putin warmly welcomed President Almazbek Atambaev and said that he was glad the opportunity to discuss the main directions of further cooperation. "There is no need to talk about the nature of our relationship. Kyrgyzstan is our reliable partner, with whom we have a strategic relationship. After Kyrgyzstan's accession to the Eurasian Union economic opportunities for cooperation are increasing. I think it will be reflected not only in indexes, but also in real life, in the development of our economies and the social sphere," said Vladimir Putin.

"We will strive, as agreed, to the diversification of our relations, and for this, in my opinion, there is every reason," said Vladimir Putin.

Russian President also noted the work of the intergovernmental commission, which prepared a plan of action to implement all planned joint plans.

President Almazbek Atambaev also said he is glad for the opportunity to discuss topical issues of the Kyrgyz-Russian cooperation. "Our two countries have not only major economic and trade relations - we are primarily strategic partners," said Almazbek Atambaev.

During the meeting the two leaders discussed topical issues of the Kyrgyz-Russian cooperation, the implementation of joint projects, as well as prospects for further cooperation in various fields and the development of the Eurasian integration.
