FILM-EXHIBITIONS ON A LARGE SCREEN - British Council in collaboration with CoolConnections and Park Cinema presents a new project.

From July 16, 2017, the Baku audience will have an opportunity to see the FILM-EXHIBITIONS from the British director Phil Grabski in high quality and on the large screen!

The exhibitions from London National Gallery, the Royal Academy of Arts and the Gallery of Modern Art, as well as from the Norwegian National Museum, Munch Museum, the Amsterdam State Museum, the Royal Mauritshuis Gallery and the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam have received a new life on the big screen and become available to art lovers in all over the world.

Films exhibitions by British documentary director Phil Grabsky give an opportunity to join the best exhibition projects of the last decade in various museums around the world from London to Oslo and from Paris to New York and become acquainted with the major trends in painting and the work of great artists in the cinema hall.

Thanks to the HD-shooting, the audience will be able to examine in detail the masterpieces of old masters and impressionists, Dutch painters of the 17th century and avant-garde artists. The series of films have already been shown in more than 1500 cinemas in 50 countries, and the number of the sold tickets has exceeded one million.

The project will start in Baku with the show of full-length films. Each film will introduce the audience to the masterpieces of world art with the help of high-tech digital cinema. The films not only give an opportunity to see the pictures but also lift the veil from the process of creating the exhibition.

For example, the film "Leonardo HD" was based on the excursion of the exhibition "Leonardo da Vinci: Painter at the Court of Milan ", which had been held at The National Gallery in London. For the first time in the history of mankind, more than forty works by Leonardo-the painter were collected under the one roof.The agiotage around this exhibition contributed to the price of tickets from dealers to grow to $ 700. Thanks to the film by Phil Grabski, the audience in Baku can visit this exhibition at the price of a movie ticket!

Intriguing explorations of curators, the life of large museums, restoration of works, expert opinion of art critics and personal impression of actors and writers, artists and musicians - all these are included in film-exhibitions. Thanks to this cycle of documentary films, Azerbaijani audience will discover the history of the creation of cult works of visual arts.

A series of film screenings will be opened by the film "Painting the Modern Garden: Monet to Matisse ". The first performance will be held on 16th of July, at 13.00 at the Flame Towers of cinema networks Park Cinema.

The film based on an exhibition that took place in the London National Gallery brings the audience to Claude Monet’s garden at Giverny and Emil Nolde’s garden in Seebüll, which have inspired artists to create beautiful landscapes.
